BJCF Awards Grant Supporting High Speed Broadband
The Boulder Junction Community Foundation awarded the Town of Boulder Junction a grant in the amount of $750 to support affordable highspeed broadband internet access throughout the township. The grant will be combined with Town funds, contributions from CenturyLink and grant funds received from the Wisconsin Public Service Commission in order to accomplish a Fiber To The Premises (“FTTP”) project during 2020 in Boulder Junction.
In a special board meeting on November 19, the Boulder Junction Town Board unanimously approved a resolution for the town to pursue the high speed broadband expansion project with the project cost at $7.5 million with a $1.2 million contribution from CenturyLink, the Wisconsin Public Service Commission grant divided into two years with $1.25 million each year, and the town of Boulder Junction’s contribution not to exceed $3.8 million.
